Gary Emory: Director of Business Operations
Gary’s years of construction and corporate knowledge enable him to manage all of the company’s business matters. He is our expert in business operations.
During Gary’s 30+ years of running business operations, he has served as V.P. of Operations for a commercial construction company in the Dallas area and in several executive leadership positions in the IT industry. Gary has developed extensive experience in directing client relationships, business operations and improvement, business growth, and financial performance. His extensive experience has allowed him to be an extremely capable roofing professional.
By education, Gary initially studied for the ministry, which led to studies in church business administration, and in turn that led to business management and financial studies. Gary is a graduate of Baylor University.
He now resides in Georgetown Texas.
Mike Pickel: Director of Construction Operations
Mike is an expert in construction project management, applying his years of experience and unique perspective to manage our construction operations.
With over 35 years in the construction field, Mike has honed his skills while completing a multi-million dollar portfolio of projects. Mike managed commercial construction projects from design through construction including time in the early phases of Del Webb Sun City in Georgetown. He is known for consistently completing projects on time and within budget.
As a roofer in the local community, Mike believes strongly in giving back. He gives of his time as the organizer and director of annual Community Restore projects in Georgetown and the central Texas area. Community Restore, a local volunteer force from several churches in the area, provides much needed repairs and improvements to homeowners that are financially or physically unable to get this work done.
Mike resides in Georgetown, Texas.
Michael Pickel: Chief Estimator
As Chief Estimator, Michael is responsible for all the commercial estimating at Texas Traditions Roofing. He also supports the estimating team on the residential side of the business when needed.
Before joining Texas Traditions Roofing, Michael spent time in biotech sales roles but decided that joining the family business and becoming a professional roofer was where his heart was leading him.
He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M and a huge Aggie fan. Michael grew up in Georgetown, Texas.
Wes Strahan, Roof Adviser
Prior to joining the Texas Traditions Team, Wes spent 30 years in public education and recently was the soccer coach for the women’s teams at Georgetown and Burnet High Schools. For the last 10 years, he would spend a week each summer volunteering in Matamoros, Mexico where he helped rebuild buildings and install metal roofs at a children’s orphanage. Locally, he led crews of high school students replacing roofs with Community Restore for the past four summers. He has a passion for construction and repair projects and is proud to be part of the Texas Traditions’ team of roofing professionals.
Wes has a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Lamar University. He resides in Georgetown with his wife, Janet, and enjoys spending time with his family which includes two daughters and a grandson.
